🇪🇺 As part of our Participate & Promote Democracy - EU Youth Participation Project, participants had the opportunity to meet with Laurens Dassen, leader of Volt Netherlands and Member of the Dutch Parliament, for an open discussion on the rising cost of living and its impact on students and youth.
💬 We discussed:
🏠 Affordable housing and the Dutch housing crisis
🎓 Student financial support
🌍 International students and student mobility
🇪🇺 The role of Erasmus+ in making international opportunities more accessible.
A key message from the conversation was clear: financial circumstances should not determine who gets to study, develop themselves or experience opportunities abroad.
The discussion also explored the responsibilities of universities towards international students and how European cooperation can help remove barriers to mobility.
Despite the challenges, Mr. Laurens Dassen shared an optimistic message: youth have the talent, energy and determination to shape change and build a better future.
