š³š± Within the framework of our "Participate & Promote Democracy" EU Youth Participation Project, the youth participants explored how the digital world can affect democratic processes.
Raising their voice in democracy, Armenian participants interviewed different policymakers.

During her discussion with the project Youth Team Member of Parliament Taguhi Ghazaryan highlights how the center of political influence has shifted toward social media where influencers often hold more power than officials. She stresses that todayās politicians must master effective communication on these platforms. Ghazaryan also flags the risks of polarized online discourse and outlines how young peopleās seemingly low activity can actually signal strong political maturity.

Samvel MartirosyanĀ explains how public officials use social media to shape their image, communicate actions, and engage with citizens. He highlights how digital platforms increase transparency, create direct communication channels, and offer politicians new opportunities to influence public understanding.

Taguhi Tovmasyan,Ā Member of Parliament of the National Assembly of Armenia and an experienced journalist and political analyst, met with the project participants to discuss the role social media plays in modern politics. She explains how online platforms create new opportunities for public outreach but also serve as spaces for organized misinformation campaigns. Tovmasyan highlights that authenticity and meaningful engagement remain essential and she reminds youth that digital communication cannot replace real political interaction.

Zaruhi Batoyan, Ex-Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, highlights the growing need for critical thinking in the digital sphere. She explains how misinformation spreads online and advises young citizens to check sources carefully and reach out to officials through email to raise concerns or ask questions.
